This unique initiative aims to empower young girls from rural Bihar by combining education with football training. By promoting physical health and fostering leadership, confidence, and financial independence, the program creates a brighter future for these girls from rural communities.
Football to Eyeball Girls Education Programme instills in them the belief that they can pursue their aspirations. This mindset shift lays the foundation for broader transformation, enhancing girls' self-sufficiency and preparing them for the workforce.
The girls are groomed for certification as optometrists, undergoing a comprehensive one-year foundational course to meet educational prerequisites for university-level optometry exams.
Remarkably, football becomes a catalyst for profound change, boosting girls' self-esteem, strength, and confidence.
Thereafter, the girls undergo a rigorous four-year certification process to become skilled optometrists. Training takes place at Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, where they gain practical experience under mentorship.
Passing these milestone signifies achieving self-sustainability and employment.
Graduates secure positions within Akhand Jyoti, with starting salaries at least five times their family's income.
Over the five-year programme, girls undergo significant personal growth, becoming community role models and agents of societal change.
