Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its 35th Vision Centre in Shahpur, located in the Bhojpur district of Bihar. This new facility aims to provide essential primary eye care services to patients in Shahpur and the surrounding areas, thanks to the generous support from Siemens Healthineers.
Serving a vast area, the Shahpur Vision Centre will cater to over 212,253 individuals across 133 villages in the Shahpur block.
Equipped with teleophthalmology facilities, the centre enables remote consultations with specialists at Akhand Jyoti’s main hospital in Mastichak. This advanced technology ensures that patients with complex eye conditions receive timely interventions without needing to travel long distances.
In addition to consultations, the centre offers low-cost eyeglasses and facilitates referrals for patients requiring eye surgeries to the Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital. This comprehensive approach ensures that individuals receive holistic eye care, from diagnosis to treatment.
Akhand Jyoti’s Vision 2030 initiative is a testament to their commitment to expanding eye care services across Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The ambitious plan includes screening 12 million people, performing 2 million surgeries, and training 1,500 underprivileged girls to become skilled optometrists.
